About Teacher Trap

Yay! I'm so glad you're here!

Teacher Trap is a labor of love that began when I was teaching third grade many years ago. The blog began as a way for me to journal about my teaching. The store began as a way for me to share all the things I was creating. The two things evolved into the perfect set up for me to pursue my current passion - supporting teachers.

About me

Hi. I'm Kady. I've been teaching for more years than I'd like to admit. In my time, I've worked as a first grade teacher, a third grade teacher, an intervention teacher, and an instructional coach for K-5. Oh, and I taught pre-first! That's my sweet little family in a photo that pretty much sums up our life together.  🙂

I earned a Master of Education degree at beautiful Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. I was lucky to work with the incredible Dr. Pat Norman, who challenged me to question everything I believed about teaching and learning.

Over the years, I've worked with some of the most incredible educators on the planet (in my opinion). I've also worked with some of the most incredible children. The never-ending challenges of teaching have me hooked, and I love working to find the most effective, engaging, and teacher-friendly ways to help kids learn.

These days, we reside in the fairy tale land of Chattanooga, TN. I'm getting to experience schooling from the parenting side now, and it's helping me gain a whole new perspective on education.

I'm grateful for the positive response I've received from fellow teachers. I love being connected to the teaching community through my blog and social media, and I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with you!
